[For Vash, everything comes rushing back the instant the world ceases to exist. For one moment, he's in the midst of what feels like the end of the world, and the next? He's back to where he started.
Well. Back to a moment in time, one that he's already lived before. One amongst the many, even, to the point where one wonders how Vash is able to keep the past and the present separated. Just how many times has he seen one scenario replace another, making little changes in the hopes that things would turn out better? Each and every time, those involved- loved ones that take up those memories with him- not being privy to the fact that they've lived it before.
It's probably the worst deja-vu one could experience, a groundhog day of your own making. And in some cosmic twist of fate, the universe decides to both take pity on Vash while also making fun of his circumstances by returning him back to the exact moment where Meryl accidentally runs over a familiar face with Roberto's van.
The good news? Vash knows he doesn't, like. Die.
But you know. Hitting him a second (or third, or fourth, or-) time probably still doesn't feel good.]
